The OWC Thunderbolt 2 enclosure is a fine evolution of a line of OWC disk enclosures that get better and better over the generations. I appreciate the new front to back cooling and very quite fan and can report very comfortable disk temperatures on my home office desktop as well as being as close to silent as you can make two 3.5" disk mechanisms be.. I've just upgrade to a Thunderbolt 4 machine, and while I had to purchase adapters to maintain connectivity, they work flawlessly and I'm very happy..

No upsell, No BS, Explained my problem, I was quickly given a solution with the wiring connectivity I needed for my storage systems. Plug and play out of the box and storing files for multiple platforms.Music files, photos and Videos can be a storage problem. Transferring them from 2 Mac books two iPads and 2 iPhones adds to the problem. Now factor in 4 different operating systems. The unit does it all which ever computer or tablet is plugged in it gives the highlighted storage any icon dimmed is not available. Love it.

I set the box up to RAID 1 and followed the included directions explicitly - the unit would not mount. A call to support handled it (erase using Mac Disk Utilities), so the sheet of instructions appears frustratingly incomplete or out of date. The array itself works well and runs with 5 others from OWC.
