Customer Reviews
If you are moving from an old mac product (in my case a 2012 MacBook Pro) to something with different ports and connections (in my case a 2020 MacBook Pro) then this device is a must. It is the Swiss Army Knife of connectivity. And it worked seamlessly. Strongly recommended. And OWC delivered quickly.

This is the best “transition” dock ever made. For users who live in both Thunderbolt 3 world but still own FireWire 800 and Mini DisplayPort monitors this is the dock for you. I needed a dock to transition me into the next generation of Mac products without losing the huge investment I’d made in gear from the past. This will give you the flexibility to take your time investing in the futurE and all with the stamp of OWC quality. Great product.

The OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock is literally the hub of my multi-display, multi-peripheral desktop setup for my MacBook Pro 13", I use most of the ports on it, and it's been rock solid since I bought it almost two years ago. However, in the last week (May 2020) I have had two occasions where different devices could not be powered by the USB ports OWC advertises as "high power." Both devices require 2 amps, but when I checked the User Manual for the TB3 dock, it documents the power output of the "high power" USB-A ports to be only 1.5A, even on the latest version of the dock. Instead, I had to power the devices using an inexpensive USB power bank that does output 2A. The current TB3 dock has been upgraded for 85W out the USB-C port, but the USB-A ports are unchanged. It is disappointing that such an expensive dock still has USB-A ports with a maximum power output level that is not enough for the latest USB-A devices.
