- The dock can draw a maximum of 60W from a dedicated USB-C Power Adapter.
- The dock itself requires 1.5W of power to operate.
- If the media reader or USB peripherals connected to the dock do not perform as expected, connect the dock to a dedicated USB-C power adapter.
- When connected to a power adapter, each USB Standard-A port can deliver up to 12W of power.
- Any power not used by the dock, media reader, and connected USB peripherals is passed to the host for battery charging, if applicable.
- Speeds are dependent upon the type of SD card used, including its speed class.

I'd thought it would replace the $80 Apple one A-2190), which I physically broke, but it won't power an external Apple Superdrive. The Superdrive evidently needs more electrons than this dock delivers through its USB ports. Everything else works though and it's handy to have the SD reader. Maybe I'm a ludite but I still think Apple laptops should have more ports. Nope. Gotta carry a suitcase full of accessories.

I plugged it in to my laptop and charger. All peripherals we identified. Pass through charging to the laptop did not work. I returned the device.
