Rating: 4/5 Does it's job, no complaints July 25, 2016 Sometimes I need to burn several discs directly from Toast instead of using a duplicator tower. Right now it's housing a BluRay reader but when I need to, I replace that with a DVD burner so I can make three discs at once from my 2013 MacPro while my duplicator towers are busy with other jobs.

Rating: 4/5 Almost as advertized April 2, 2016 It's an enclosure. Only issue is that the drive could not seat all the way back into the enclosure. After custom creating some new screw holes, I finally got it most of the way in, about 1/2 inch is sticking out. This was with a replacement optical drive purchased from OWC.

Needed the external enclosure to hook up to my Mac Mini and run VMWare into Windows 7.

When running Windows 7, the exact model of the drive showed up. Drivers installed great for PC (and Mac) and the program to burn my image files worked flawless to recognize the DVD drive I put in the enclosure

I measured my DVD drive before ordering to make sure it fits and it's flush

Rating: 3/5 Be careful of your drive size April 12, 2014 I purchased prior to pulling my Blu-Ray Drive (Pioneer) from my tower. I failed to read the previous review, and didn't check the specs. I do wish OWC would provide a more prominent warning that the drive may not fit. Oh well, I mainly needed the interface so I'll do a little hack.

Rating: 3/5 Ok, but won't fit some drives July 10, 2012 Bought this SATA optical drive case for my LG Blu-Ray burner (model CH12). You would think that these things must come in standard sizes, but my drive is about 1/4" too long to fit this case properly. My choices were to 1) return the case for a refund, 2) let the drive stick out the front and not have the ability to hold it in place with the supplied screws, or 3) install the drive with the screws which, by the way, aligns it flush with the front so it looks correctly fitted, but now the SATA adaptor board & power connector, etc. are hanging out the back by 1/4". I chose option #3 and added some black tape to hold it all together. The case itself is ok - it's an inexpensive molding, which is what you might expect at the price. In fact it's a fairly high-quality molding when compared to some other inexpensive drive cases I've seen recently. One final caveat: the lightly-frosted but semi-gloss finish is a magnet for fingerprints that don't rub out without some sort of spray cleaner. No big deal, but they might have chosen a somewhat rougher / mottled finish that would not have had this problem. The supplied USB cable is 24" long - too short for my installation, but it may be fine for yours.

The bottom line: it works, with some slight modification, and I can now use my LG BD burner as an external drive.
