I've had this drive for 6 months and it has worked perfectly. Compared to my last external USB-only drive - which you could hear churning clear across the room - this drive is nearly completely silent. I have it sitting on my desk and I can hardly hear it working... Performance is excellent too! Quiet, nice looking, great performance and portable too - I really like this drive! It's a little bigger than some of the bus-powered drives out there but the enclosure is solid and great quality. There may be cheaper drives on the market but after working in the IT field for 20 years, quality beats cost, especially for hard drives. OWC's products and service are top notch.
