Reliable thermal control

High-performance SSDs usually require high-performance thermal control. To ensure stable performance, the 980 uses nickel coating to help manage the controller's heat level and a heat spreader label to deliver effective thermal control of the NAND chip.

Smart thermal solution

Embedded with Samsung's cutting-edge thermal control algorithm, 980 manages heat on its own to deliver durable and reliable performance, while minimizing performance fluctuations during extended usage.
  1. HMB (Host Memory Buffer) technology enables the SSD to use the DRAM of the host system for read/write caching and buffering.
  2. Performance may vary depending on the SSD’s firmware version, system and hardware configuration. Performance measurements are based on IOmeter 1.1.0. The write performances were measured with Intelligent TurboWrite technology activated. The sequential write performances after Intelligent TurboWrite region are: up to 250 MB/s(250GB), 500 MB/s(500GB) and 900 MB/s(1TB). Test system configuration: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz,DDR4 2133MHz 8GBx2 OS-Windows 10 Pro 64bit Asrock Z-170 Extreme7+.
  3. Results are based on a comparison with Samsung SATA SSDs.

    Great price for a used but certified “working”.SSD.

    Had a hard time figuring out how to install the 2 SSDs I purchased into a “dual” enclosure (which I sadly ordered from another company). I’m very pleased with the SSDs!

    Good price on a working NVMe

    Transaction was good. NVMe arrived on time. Plugged it in and it worked. It was already blank so that was nice. Works in my Raspberry Pi 5 for a Unifi controller.
