OWC Slim Optical Drive

1. DC input for optional power supply (sold separately)

Use the included USB “Y” cable to connect the OWC Slim optical drive to your computer. Plug the USB mini-B connector into the optical drive. When connecting the other end of the cable into the computer, make sure both of the USB Standard-A connectors are connected to the computer. One connector carries the data signal, the other is for supplying extra power (more below).

Depending on the power of the USB port on the computer, you may need to connect the second USB standard-A connector from the included USB “Y” cable to another USB port on your computer. If you are using an Apple Mac computer with OS X 10.4 or later, disc burning will work with iTunes, iDVD, and Disk Utility without installing additional software. OS X versions earlier than 10.4 need third-party software, such as PatchBurn (www.patchburn.de), to enable burning with the above applications.

The OWC Slim optical drive is also designed to work with thirdparty burning software, such as Roxio Toast, NTI DragonBurn, and other popular shareware and freeware burning software.

The OWC Slim optical drive works with Nero and many other popular burning utilities.
