This my second battery from OWC. I decided to upgrade my hard drive with a ssd so getting a new battery was a must. I looked around but OWC had a better quality one.

05 Oct 2022 I vowed eleven years ago that I would do anything to keep my two MacBook Pro 17 inchers up and running and to never buy another computer again. The Apple MacBook Pro 17”, despite its age and deadlocked upgradability beyond MacOS High Sierra (10.13.x) is one of the easiest computers to work on, upgrade, and repair that Apple has made and I refuse to move away from the 17” screen and maintenance ability. I dislike Apple’s latter lack of upgradability with welded down memory and SSD drives. After 11 years and well past the 6 to 7 year age mark, my original Li-Ion battery took its last breath in one of the 17 inchers. I bought and installed OWC’s NuPower 95 Watt Hour battery without any issues and have deep cycled the battery as instructed. The Chardgeberry App reports the battery in excellent health. This is not the first time doing installations in this laptop. Back in 2015, I installed OWC’s Memory Upgrade and OWC’s Data Doubler moving the original 1 TB HDD to that device connection and installed a new Samsung 2 TB SSD as the primary drive. The graphics chip has been replaced with an upgraded chip when the original gave up the ghost. All of this has saved thousands of dollars that would have been spent on a new Mac. The best for last … No only have all OWC components been relatively easy to install; but, OWC’s component related installation videos have flawlessly guided me through each and every installation and upgrade along the way. They need to have a 6 - EXCELLENT selection from above. Thank you OWC !!!
