I added it my order at even lower “garage sale” price. It’s quite useful as a convenient way to charge my MacBook. I connect my external drive, used for Time Machine backup, to the one USB-A port on adapter. With USB-C power cable connected to adapter, I just plug the adapter to my MacBook. It charges battery and Time Machine starts a backup automatically. By the time battery at 100%, Time Machine also done, and I disconnect adapter. For me, the VGA connector is ignored. This is a high-quality Apple peripheral. The USB-A port connects securely, doesn’t wobble or sometimes unexpectedly lose connection, it’s other connection points also feel solid. People who already own a multi-port USB-C hub probably do not need this small adapter. I like using my M1 MacBook Pro mostly disconnected from everything, like how use my iPad. I don’t have a large expensive hub, so this simple solution is valuable at the discounted (almost free) price.
