Perfect for use in a low-duty-cycle RAID system used as my photo image library backup. This is offline most of the time but plays a critical role in making sure that the library has a very high assurance backup that gets updated regularly. This is in contrast to a photo club friend who has three 6 TB drives all connected to her Mac and who copied her library among them to make "sure" she had 3 copies online at all times - all were corrupted by some kind of incident.
