I was surprised by the noise that this backup device makes, especially after connecting it to an OWC dock. I had purchased 2 drives and both are very noisy much more so than both the LaCie and Western Digital that I subsequently purchased. I set up the OWC for both Time Machine and a separate back up unit. A very disappointing purchase. I attempted to sell them but the noise forced them to return.
