Please be aware that due to circumstances beyond OWC's control, when the ThunderBlade volume is ejected or unmounted from Windows 10, there can be a substantial delay before the system recognizes that the volume has been ejected. This happens with other Thunderbolt 3 devices as well; it is not specific to OWC hardware. We believe this will be resolved in the near-future by a Thunderbolt 3 driver update for Windows, however until then please follow these guidelines to avoid problems:

  • If you eject and/or disconnect the ThunderBlade from the system, wait until the ThunderBlade device is no longer visible in the Windows Device Manager before you reconnect it.

  • If you wait and reconnect the drive, and it subsequently does not appear in the Windows Explorer, you may need to restart Windows 10 in order for it to recognize the ThunderBlade correctly.
