When it comes to technology, it’s certainly helpful to be the best in your field. But sometimes, its even better to be first.
This theory apparently applies to the entertainment business as well. Humor site Funny or Die has just released the teaser trailer for its upcoming Steve Jobs satirical biopic “iSteve”. As made very clear in the movie’s tagline near the end of the trailer, this will be the first biopic of the former Apple CEO released. Two other more serious Jobs-centric movies are either currently in production or completed and awaiting release. (This is of course not counting the made-for-TV-movie “Pirates of Silicon Valley” that documents the rivalry between Apple Computer and Microsoft.)
Here are a few interesting facts about the production “iSteve”:
- Actor Justin Long, who you probably remember from the famous “Get a Mac” campaign, will play the role of Jobs.
- “iSteve” was written in just three days and filmed in five.
- The movie will reportedly be between 60 and 75 minutes and will cover Jobs’ entire life.
So what are your thoughts on the movie? With its humorous tone, do you think it’s out of bounds or in poor taste? Is Justin Long being disrespectful to the man and company who helped give his profile a major boost? Sound off, and let us know what you think in the comments section.
“iSteve” is set for an April 15 online release exclusively at Funny or Die.
