In a similar fashion to its low-key release of new Airs back in April, Apple released refreshed versions of its MacBook Pro with Retina display today. Both the 13” and 15” models received faster Intel Haswell processors, while each model now comes with more standard memory with the 13” model now featuring 8GB and the 15” packing 16GB.
Unlike the 2014 line of MacBook Airs, however, there was no across-the-board price reduction with the new Retina MacBook Pros. The pricing remains the same in each Retina model, except for the high-end 15” model, which received a $100 price reduction down to $2,499. The non-Retina MacBook Pro also received a $100 price cut today bringing its cost down to $1,099. The user-upgradeable non-Retina model is otherwise unchanged.
New rMBP, same external design
The external design of the refreshed rMBP is unchanged, meaning they’re still compatible with OWC and NewerTech accessories such as video adapters, protective snap-on covers and keyboard covers. And the new rMBP still uses the MagSafe 2 power adapter, which is compatible with the NewerTech Snuglet for a more secure connection.
Thunderbolt Central & more

Upgrade your previous generation rMBP
If you’re looking to get the most out of your current Retina MacBook Pro model 10,1 or 10,2, check out the Aura line of SSDs and OWC Envoy Pro USB 3.0 SSD enclosure.
The Aura Pro will give you the freedom to upgrade your capacity to meet your storage needs with a high-performance OWC SSD, and the aluminum Envoy Pro will allow you to re-purpose your factory drive in a speedy, elegant package!
I’d also like to know the status of SSD upgrades for newer rMBPs, including these ones. Apple won’t allow a BTO storage increase on the base 13″ model – if you want 512 GB they force you to get the model with the fastest (and most expensive) CPU.

Why have owc still not developed an SSD for the late 2013 rMBP? It is nearly August and we’ve been waiting VERY patiently for owc to release one.
It was October 23 last year when you guys did your “definitive quick guide” and I asked about owc SSDs and it doesn’t seem like owc are going to bring one out!

If you’re not going to release an SSD upgrade for the late 2010 rMBP then please just say so, otherwise please hurry up and get it available to buy!!!
