I probably could've waited a few months (or longer) and bought a Macbook Pro for more money, but it wouldn't have the RAM or core capacity as this. New Mac Pros are way out of my budget. Other than keeping it cool, I haven't had problems with it. I do graphic art, photography and retouching, and music. This has more than enough power for all that, at once. Finally -- some performance from macOS!

After using much older Macs for years, I grew tired of the graphical performance and started looking at Mac Pros. One online auction site had them, untested and as-is, and for ridiculous prices. I then remembered OWC from iFixit articles and my earlier Mac years. OWC had very competitive prices on 2013 Pros and offered good support, as well. I went for it.
This Pro arrived in good time and was packed extremely well. This unit arrived with some deep scratches and other wear typical of this vintage, but otherwise works well. While this model is a good performer, I still feel the performance should be a little better for the price point. I know OWC didn't make the computer, so no complaints with them. For the model year, it has decent connectivity and after a Time Machine restore I was up and running with no issues. I work and live in the macOS world and I'm pleased overall with this machine compared to previous Macs. I hope to get many years of service from this! Thanks OWC! Hi purchased my original Mac Pro back in 2016. I'm working on a music project for my music business and this Mac Pro really works. It's the 12 Core Xeon E5 with 128 Gigabytes of RAM. So I purchased 3 more of them. The machine is small but powerful. I'm very happy with my purchase. Again, think about it this way. The Mac Pro has a warranty that is offered by OWC, there are no moving parts so it's not like a used car. It's a computer. It does the job. Yes you can purchase a new Mac pro for a-lot more money, that is your choice. But for me it was about load balancing with many Mac Pro's with a special piece of software for my business. Having 1 super duper and expensive Mac Pro wouldn't have worked due to the software limitations. So I have 4 of these Mac Pro computers and they all work great for my needs. Think about what you want to accomplish with the computer first. I'm so glad OWC had these Mac Pro's available to purchase at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. It made perfect sense! The process was easy and the computer is awesome. I had a Quad core 16gb Ram MacBook Pro which was having issues running all of the Logic vocal, midi and audio tracks on my projects. I have a WAVES SGS Extreme server which works well but didn't resolve the issues with the MBP. This Mac Pro machine - 12 cores-128 gb ram 1 TB drive-was pricey but doesn't break a sweat when handling large Logic projects. I love it!! so far. I will probably upgrade the drive to either a 2TB or 4TB drive soon. I would recommend this item to a friend! Nice efficient packaging. The inner box has a handle so I'm saving the box to use if I need to transport the computer. Immediately upgraded to Big Sur without issue.
Using two 2560x1440 displays. One on HDMI the other thunderbolt. Also an old OWC TB2 dock connected to a Mercury Elite Pro Dual for my Time Machine and CCC backup drives. Booting stalled issues were fixed by rearranging the thunderbolt connections until the problem went away.
Super quiet. Had to plug in a usb powered light to tell if it was running.
At Apples site entered serial number to find date of manufacture but since it wasn't registered info wasn't available(?). I'd like to know when it was made so I know the CMOS battery age.

The Mac Pro has worked perfectly fast speed, great graphics, performing its work silently and efficiently, utilization is always low even when running a VMWARE Fusion session with Windows 10. Great Upgrade from iMac Mid-2010

I bought this unit to replace my old computer that started slowing to a crawl over the years. I upgraded the memory to 16GB, but that just slowed it down more because the operating system El Capitan cannot handle higher memory, so this purchase(Mac Pro 2013) was not a matter of "if," but "when." I made the purchase, and it shipped out a few days later. I chose the faster shipping, and it was worth the extra money. This computer has met all of my needs so far. It arrived sealed as if brand new, and migration from the old computer was a breeze after removing my old hard drive and placing it in an external portable drive. I reused my previous computer's keyboard and mouse. This Mac Pro is faster and quieter, has more ports for connectivity, and now, my computer unlocks with my Apple Watch Series 2. I did have to upgrade my audio interface because the old one was using firewire. I switched to USB and added more inputs for recording devices. I am pleased with the purchase, and the OWC experience was great, from ordering to delivery. I would recommend this item to a friend!
