Refurbished 27" iMac

I was totally please with the packaging of my iMac order. The shipping box was very strong and the iMac was well padded for protection. The overall condition was as described, excellent. it could have passed for new! The operation was as I expected, just like a new iMac. You couldn't tell it was a refurbished model.
I have purchased several Apple products from OWC (MacSales) and have always been completely satisfied1

Magnificent computer

The computer arrived sooner than expected and in wonderful condition.
It's larger than I expected but wonderfully so. It's my second iMac so it's not new to me but the upgrade over my older one is amazing.

The computer I ordered was exactly what I needed and the same as advertised. The service was good. There was a little delay in shipping due to a parts shortage, but the Customer Service rep (Justin J.) was great and very helpful. He kept me aware of where things were, returned my emails, and fulfilled all his promises. CUSTOMER SERVICE SAVES THE DAY

THE FIRST IMAC WE RECEIVED WAS DELIVERED WITH A DEAD SOUND CARD. IT WAS A GIFT FOR MY PARTNER SO I WORKED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE TO GET A REPLACEMENT SHIPPED. NOW THE SECOND UNIT TURNS OUT TO ALSO HAVE HARDWARE ISSUES, AND CANNOT BE UPGRADED PAST BIG SUR DUE TO THE HARDWARE HAVING BEEN ALTERED. LITTLE DID WE KNOW THAT THIS WAS ONCE A BASE CONFIGURATION IMAC THAT THEY REPLACED THE BASE PROCESSOR, THE MAIN LOGIC BOARD, THE FUSION DRIVE, AND THE 1TB HDD WITH THE 18TB HDD WE ORDERED. SINCE SO MUCH WAS CHANGED THE SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW FOR ANY SOFTWARE UPDATE BEYOND BIG SUR. SO I THOUGHT I SPENT $3200 AND WE HAD A MACHINE THAT CAN NEVER BE UPDATED. WE HAVE BEEN LONG TIME OWC CUSTOMERS (SINCE 2011) BUT WE THOUGHT WE WOULD NEVER BUY A USED MAC FROM THEM. WE TRIED WORKING WITH TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND THEY COULD NOT HELP. SO I TOOK IT TO APPLE AND THAT WAS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME EITHER. SINCE THE COMPUTER WAS OUT OF WARRANTY ALL THAT THEY CAN DO WAS ORDER THE NEW PARTS BASED ON THE SERIAL NUMBER. AFTER REACHING OUT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN AND EXPLAINING MY SITUATION THEY SAID THEY WOULD ALLOW ME TO RETURN THE MACHINE FOR A REFUND. SO AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF FRUSTRATION AND PAIN OWC/MACSALES MADE MY SITUATION RIGHT AND REFUNDED MY PURCHASE. I CAN NOW BUY ANOTHER IMAC THAT CAN BE UPGRADED. THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF A RETURNING CUSTOMER AND RESTORING MY CONFIDENCE IN OWC/MACSALES. I would recommend this item to a friend! First, I just want to say that OWC has been my go to place for refurbished Macs. That said, I was disappointed when my recent iMac purchase had an issue. The machine was shipped with Monterey preinstalled. I later discovered that the USB-C ports weren’t working, and after some investigation on my part, the issue appears to be caused by a bug in Monterey. OWC‘s marketing materials claim that they fully test every computer before shipping, but if this was the case they would’ve found that the USB-C ports did not work. No surprises. The iMac 27" arrived is very good condition, even though the delivery person set the shipping box on it's end instead of "label up". Oh well, it was packed properly so no damage was found. It booted right up without any issues.
