OWC Envoy Pro 1A Portable, Bus-Powered USB (10GB/s) Storage Enclosure
- Works on any USB-C port with a USB-A to USB-C adapter (available separately).
- When using the Envoy Pro 1A with drives that have a heatsink, the cover of the Envoy Pro 1A will need to remain off. However, prolonged use without the cover is not recommended. NOTE: Removing the heat sink to apply the Envoy Pro 1A cover is not supported and may void the drive manufacture warranty. Please review the warranty information of the heat sink drive desired for installation.

Arrived in great shape, installed in minutes, works perfectly. To be more specific I was able to boot to internet recovery mode, format the new SSD, and install the correct macOS all with the drive in the external enclosure. I then opened the bottom of the Mac, extracted the original SSD with a single screw, and then swap the new into the Mac and the old into the enclosure. Lastly, I used migration assistant to copy the user folder. I was able to revive a failing computer, quadruple the storage, and increase the speed. Success!
