        Step 1:

        Click the Apple Icon (top left corner) and Select 'About This Mac'

        Step 2:

        In the new window titled 'About This Mac' click the 'More Info...' button.

        Step 3:

        Under 'Hardware Overview' you will see 'Model Identifier'. If you are running OS X 10.4.x or lower you will see 'Machine Model' instead.
