Veterans Day is a time to remember and give thanks to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. But it’s also a great time to educate young people.
That’s why the Got Your 6 organization is joining HISTORY in encouraging schools to promote the “Take a Veteran to School Day” program leading up to Veterans Day on Nov. 11. “Take a Veteran to School Day” events aim to connect young people with veterans via class visits or a school assembly to give them a chance to learn about the sacrifices that are made and to honor our veterans.
