Please note that there are two LEDs that are embedded within the Ethernet port's housing. The LED on the top-left corner of the port (displays as green - indicates active network link), and the LED on the top-right corner of the port (blinks orange during data access / network activity). If these LEDs are not active, verify that both ends of the Ethernet cable are fully seated / have snapped into place.

Most Ethernet plugs have plastic tabs on the top to secure them to their port; it's not uncommon for the tabs to break off and in that case the plug can come loose from the port if the cable, host, or device is moved at any point.

You may also want to try a completely different Ethernet cable as they can become non-functional over time.
