Where Do You Get Your Mac News?

With all the developments, innovations, rumors and controversy that goes on in the Mac Universe, it gets kind of hard to determine the best places to get your information. And since the Mac is more popular than ever, those sources have increased steadily over the years.

So where do you get your Mac News?

  • Business-related blogs like this one?
  • Mac-centric news sites, such as Apple Insider or The Unofficial Apple Weblog?
  • General Tech Industry sites like Ars Technica or Engadget?
  • Industry commentary blogs, such as Daring Fireball?
  • Magazines like Macworld or Mac|Life?
  • Traditional mass media like TV, radio and/or newspapers?
  • “Specialty” sites like Barefeats.com or Anandtech?
  • Something else entirely?

We’d love to see where and how our customers get the word on their (and our) favorite computer platform. It’ll help us get a better idea of what kind of content you’re looking for.

    #3 Mac Rumors (Daily)
    #4 Anandtech (Every 2-3 Days)

I used to look at TUAW and 9to5 Mac, but frankly TUAW covers way too much noise and their commenters are largely trolls… 9to5 just didn’t offer much that wasn’t already covered by AI and MR. I haven’t looked at a Mac focused print mag in years… I’d never trust ZDnet, CNet, etc… either.

I know that’s a ton of site but rss helps sort through it all

    • Whoo…Drake…when do you find time to eat and sleep? ;-)

And wow…flattered you have our blog as one of those top level sources!

  • Macrumors
    9to5mac
    Appleinsider
    Macworld (Swedish)
    Sweclockers

    And of course OWC :P

  • RSS feeds for AppleInsider and Macworld
I also listen to the MacCast podcast regularly

  • OWC, Giz, Engadget, Ars, Anandtech, 9 to 5, Macrumors, Macperformanceguide, barefeats, apple insider, xlr8yourmac. Just to name a few.

  • I’ve been a reader of Macsurfer.com for years. They’re not a news site, per se, but an aggregation of several mac-oriented headlines from around the web. It’s updated many times per day and makes it easy to get multiple sources of information for anything that’s happening regarding Apple in one place.

  • So where do I get my Mac News?

Business-related blogs like this one? Yes, second.(tie)

Mac-centric news sites, such as Apple Insider or The Unofficial Apple Weblog? Second (tie)

General Tech Industry sites like Ars Technica or Engadget? Third

Industry commentary blogs, such as Daring Fireball? Hardly ever.

Magazines like Macworld or Mac|Life? Infrequent

Traditional mass media like TV, radio and/or newspapers? Hardly ever

“Specialty” sites like Barefeats.com or Anandtech? Fourth.

Something else entirely? Various tech twitter feeds for the main source, obviously linking from there.

  • Primarily Mac-centric news sites with TUAW and MacStories and general tech sites like Ars. I separate my Mac feeds by Mac News, Mac Blogs, and Mac Rumors.

  • The Mac-L. 15 years I’ve been a member of it. Also TidBits. And, of course, the Apple page on FB.

  • MacDailyNews: For the very best in completely unhinged raving and jabbering.

    • Right on, C1!

MDN is big on having readers submit articles they found from wherever on the web. It makes for a greater mix of material (I won’t say viewpoints – they are unabashedly pro Apple, and mock anyone/anything that isn’t.)

  • A combination between TUAW, Macworld, Mac rumors, Apple Insider, and Engadget as well as podcasts like Mac OS Ken and Geekbeat.
