Apple has a bevy of new products coming out over the next few months: iPhone 5, iOS 6, iPad mini, iPod, MacBook Pro 13″ with Retina display, and new iMacs. Microsoft gambles with it’s new Surface Tablet, and they’re doing an entire revamp of how Windows works with Windows 8. Silicon Valley says tech addiction is real.

We’ll have to disagree on this one. Unless it’s offering some capability that didn’t exist before, it becomes a pain for anything people have purchased that’s part of the iDevice eco-system such as speakers, car adapters, and heck just the shear convenience of many people having these cables which makes grabbing a quick charge at a friends house possible.
I’d be interested in seeing what capabilities it offers besides a smaller size.
Heck, they may just be doing it to assuage the European Unions call for universal USB connectors in mobile phone.
We’ll see.
