OWC Unveils 4 New Products for NAB 2024 Show

Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A Memory Cards built for Sony users launch alongside a new Envoy Portable SSD. Plus new capacities for Envoy Pro Elektron, and Envoy Pro Mini.

Everyone here at OWC is excited for the big NAB show coming later this week. So excited in fact that we couldn’t wait to share with you four—yes, FOUR—new products that we’ll be introducing for the first time at the show. These include new CFexpress Type A memory cards and major updates to our Envoy family of portable SSDs.

These four products represent everything that we strive for here at OWC: creating products with speed, toughness, and reliability that enable everyone to Capture, Create, and Collaborate no matter what. You can see all four of these products and more at booth #2024 in the Central Hall at NAB 2024 April 14-17.

For starters, we have the new Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A memory cards designed with video and photography professionals who shoot with Sony Alpha, FX, and FR7 cameras in mind.

Next is the all-new Envoy SSD, a do-it-all drive designed for everything from professional to personal use. Finally, two of our most popular drives, the Envoy Pro Elektron and the Envoy Pro Mini, have both received major capacity increases.

Ultra speed and toughness for Sony camera users

The latest additions to our Atlas family of memory cards and card readers are the Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A memory cards

Available in capacities of 480GB and 960GB, these cards were designed with users of Sony cameras in mind. Specifically, these cards are fully compatible with the a9 III, a7SIII, a7IV, a7rV, FX3, FX6, FR7, and FX30. The cards are also compatible with CFexpress Type A memory card readers and reader slot equipped devices.

These cards utilize the latest in flash memory technology to double the speed of CFexpress 2.0 cards while remaining backward compatible with existing devices. Both cards boast read and write speeds of 1850MB/s and 1700MB/s, respectively, and are VPG200 certified, ensuring that they will work with all Sony camera settings.

With these max speeds, along with a thermal design that guarantees sustained speeds of at least 400MB/s, the new Type A cards are designed for creators who want to benefit from the maximum performance that their Sony cameras can offer such as 8K video, Pro-slow motion (up to 240 fps) or Pro-high resolution burst RAW photography. Consistent performance allows these cards to flawlessly capture high-volume, high-bitrate shots without a moment of delay.

Adapter included for max ingest speeds

What’s really great about these next generation Atlas Pro CFexpress Type A cards is not only their blazing fast speeds for recording and capture, but also the huge benefit they provide upon the ingest of data.

And to make your ingest as efficient as possible, with each Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A card, we’re including a free CFexpress Type A to Type B adapter. This adapter allows you to use these cards with our new, blazing fast Atlas USB4 CFexpress 4.0 Type B reader

This compact, bus-powered USB4 CFexpress Type B reader is capable of transfer speeds up to an astonishing 5,000 MB/s, making this member of the Atlas family the fastest card reader in the universe. By pairing the Atlas Pro Type A cards with our USB4 CFexpress Type B reader, you’ll reduce ingestion time by 2x or more compared to CFexpress 2.0 cards and by 6x or more when compared to SD cards.

By slotting your Atlas Pro Type A card into the adapter and ingesting data via the Atlas USB4 CFexpress 4.0 Type B reader, you’ll tap into the full speed and performance of these Atlas Pro cards, ensuring fast and efficient data transfer.

You can read more about the Atlas USB4 CFexpress 4.0 Type B reader here.

Rugged, reliable, and ready when you are

Like all Atlas memory cards, the Atlas Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type A cards feature a rugged external design and are tested under the most aggressive camera settings to ensure delivery of the highest reliability and performance to ensure safe and secure storage of irreplaceable content.

Atlas Pro CFexpress cards are built to withstand x-rays, UV rays, shocks, drops, and extreme temperatures.

Another vital aspect of Atlas Pro cards is that they are part of the Atlas family—the only fully integrated capture ecosystem built with creators in mind.

The Atlas ecosystem includes memory cards, memory card readers, and our Innergize software. Innergize is integral to the Atlas ecosystem as it checks the health of an Atlas card to ensure its performance and reliability. Innergize also cleans and restores performance to each card to ensure there are zero dropped frames when shooting video or continuous burst photos. Finally, Innergize allows users to perform easy firmware upgrades.

You can read more about how Innergize keeps your cards healthy and at their peak performance right here.

New Envoy SSD provides unmatched value

The new Envoy SSD is the portable powerhouse drive made for everyone.

Inspired by the extreme performance of the Envoy FX and the ultra portability of the Envoy Pro Elektron, we tasked our engineers with making a drive that combines the best of those products into one package.

They did just that with the new Envoy SSD, a stunning rethinking of design that provides a portable best-in-class experience in an even smaller package than the Elektron

Available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, Envoy SSD boasts an aircraft-grade aluminum housing in a palm-sized form factor, enabling it to fit in a pocket and go anywhere while surviving real-world abuses. The included USB-C cable ensures that Envoy is ready to use with computers, cameras, and smartphones.

And the Envoy’s high-speed capability means that storing, transferring, editing, and backing up files goes quickly. Envoy provides max speeds in excess of 1000MB/s and prevents thermal throttling to provide sustained speeds of no less than the full 1000MB/s it is capable of.

Envoy SSD Pricing and Availability

The all-new Envoy SSD is now available for pre-order and will ship in May from macsales.com for $149.99 at 1TB and $279.99 at 2TB.

Envoy Pro Elektron and Pro Mini now hold double the data

Alongside the new Atlas Pro CFexpress Type A cards and Envoy SSD, we’re also excited to announce major capacity upgrades to our popular Envoy Pro Elektron and Envoy Pro Mini portable SSDs.

The Envoy Pro Elektron is now available in a 4TB capacity.

The Envoy Pro Elektron is a ruggedized, crushproof, dustproof, and waterproof IP67-rated pocket-sized drive. Now available in capacities up to a whopping 4TB, we have expanded the capabilities of Elektron even further for creators who demand performance and high capacity.

With the included USB-C connector, you can save, edit, and back up large-format video, lossless audio, and RAW image files with up to 1011MB/s real-world performance.

Envoy Pro Mini is now available in a 2TB capacity with a huge increase in sustained write speeds.

The Envoy Pro Mini is the only thumb-drive-sized SSD on the market that packs a punch in both performance and capacity. Built into the design of the Envoy Pro Mini is a flippable USB-A and USB-C connector making it easy to connect to your device of choice.

And with its new 2TB capacity (~1.92TB usable), packing huge amounts of data into something that can hang from your keychain, the Envoy Pro Mini will be a powerful tool for those creators who like to always keep their work with them.

But the higher capacity of the new 2TB model is not the only improvement we’ve made to this drive. While the 1TB model can sustain speedy 200MB/s speeds while filling the entire capacity of that drive, the new 2TB model can sustain the full 900MB/s write speed while filling its higher 2TB capacity.

This improvement to sustained write speed will make a huge difference for professionals, particularly those who use the Envoy Pro Mini as a backup and shuttle drive like DITs on film sets who need a portable, quiet, compact SSD capable of high speed data transfer and able to easily interface with all sorts of devices.

Envoy Pro Elektron and Envoy Pro Mini Pricing and Availability

The Envoy Pro Elektron is now available for purchase in capacities up to 4TB from macsales.com for $579.99.

The Envoy Pro Mini is now available for purchase in capacities up to 2TB from macsales.com for $299.99.
