Apple made its much-speculated October event official by issuing media invites today. As expected the event will be held October 16 at Apple’s corporate campus in Cupertino, Calif. The tagline for the event is “It’s been way too long.”
The tagline is a bit ambiguous as Apple is rumored to be unveiling new versions of the iPad and its newest Mac operating system Yosemite. Other rumors point to an iMac with a Retina display and a refresh of the Mac mini. The Mac mini has not seen an update since October of 2012.
This will be Apple’s second event in as many months, as last month the company held its annual iPhone event where it debuted the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus along with the new Apple Watch.
The October event will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, October 16.
Update: According to MacRumors, Apple will once again live stream the special event: www.macrumors.com/2014/10/09/apple-ipad-event-live-stream/
I’m very much hoping for a Mac mini with 4K support and more than 1 Thunderbolt port.
I think you have a lot of company with that hope. :)
I’ll be utterly crushed if Apple doesn’t release a revised Mac Mini
