NewerTech Announces the Headless Mac Video Accelerator – A New Solution to an Old Problem

nwtcblmdphead_gall1NewerTech announced today the Headless Mac Video Accelerator, designed to easily fix poor graphics performance issues that occur when any Mac with a Mini DisplayPort (including but not limited to Mac mini 2009 and newer models) is used as a remotely accessed headless machine (without a display attached).

Never Settle for a Choppy Interface Again
When a Mac is operated without a display attached, often as a high-powered, whisper-quiet home or professional server, the GPU stays inactive. This leads to poor performance when the system is accessed remotely. Without an active GPU, the user interface lags, animation stutters, and cursor movement, navigation, and typing all suffer.

An Easy Solution. Plug in. Restore Performance
The NewerTech Headless Mac Video Accelerator provides an easy fix that makes the remote experience run smooth again, enabling a headless Mac to behave as if it already had an attached display. This activates the GPU, taking full advantage of its power to restore accelerated performance to any headless Mac.

“NewerTech is committed to making products that deliver innovative solutions for real-world problems. The Headless Mac Video Accelerator is another one of these excellent solutions enabling our users to get maximum performance from their headless Mac,” said Larry O’Connor, CEO, NewerTech.

Key Features Include:

  • Designed to the highest standards with proper shielding to prevent unwanted interference
  • 1920×1080 @ 60Hz maximum resolution
  • 3 year NewerTech Limited Warranty

Availability
The NewerTech Headless Mac Video Accelerator is available for immediate ordering.

  • So I’m using a late-2012 Mini as a “headless” server, but the Thunderbolt port is being used with a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter for link aggregation. Do you have a version for the HDMI port? What are my options?
