Apple Makes Early Announcement on WWDC Date, Returns to San Jose

[Update 2/20] MacRumors is reporting that Apple will hold a March hardware-related event.

It might be only February, but Apple already has its sights set on June.

The company announced today that its annual WWDC conference will run Monday, June 5 though Friday, June 9 at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. The conference returns to San Jose after moving to San Francisco in 2003.

As in years past, Apple is expected to announce its latest versions of macOS, iOS, tvOS and watchOS. There’s no word yet whether Tim Cook & Co. will make any Mac or iPad announcements.

Recent rumors have pointed to a possible Spring event that might produce new hardware. However, it’s worth noting that Apple has previously announced WWDC dates in April. This “early” February announcement could be a signal that there will be no March event and thus, no spring hardware releases.

To register, you must be a member of the Apple Developer Program or Apple Developer Enterprise Program. The conference will also be live-streamed at Apple’s WWDC page.
