I have two mechanical keyboards. They are the best, especially for me as a highh-speed typer who has used everything from an old Royal typewriter to a variety or early INM selectrics to the god awful membrane chicklets on most later computer keyboards. However they are noisy and will tend to annoy open-officemates.
