How to Enable Low Power Mode in macOS Monterey

Low Power Mode has been a useful feature for iOS users since iOS 9. It automatically reduces the number of internal system processes that eat up power. The result is longer battery life for the iPhone.

Apple brings Low Power Mode to the Mac with macOS Monterey. Naturally, it works differently than on the iPhone (and iPad). Here’s how to turn it on:

Launch System Preferences.
Select the Battery pane.

In the left column, click Battery. Then check the box for “Low power mode” to enable it. (Check the box again to disable “Low Power Mode.”)

You can choose whether to enable this only when using your Mac laptop when it’s unplugged — or also while it’s plugged in by clicking the Power Adapter menu.

Low power mode is available on the MacBook (Early 2016 and later) and MacBook Pro (Early 2016 and later) running macOS Monterey.

I am not sure why this is happening but each morning our 5 bay (owc) hd’s are off line with failure to eject messages each.

Is this because the drives are connected via my owc thunderbolt dock?

I am a long time OWC / macsales customer.
