Apple today announced it will hold its annual iPhone event on Monday, September 9.
The announcement was accompanied by a Siri-inspired image with the tagline, “It’s Glowtime,” in reference to Siri’s AI-infused glow-up in iOS 18. The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater and will start at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern.
During the event, Apple will introduce its latest generation of iPhones, including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. New colors are likely coming and some rumors suggest that the displays on the new iPhone 16 Pro models could get a slight bump in size.
Other changes expected include the Action button currently found only on the iPhone 15 Pro models, will go lineup-wide, being included on not only the iPhone 16 Pro models, but also the non-Pro iPhone 16 models. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to gain another new physical button: a dedicated capture button for the camera.
Apple is also rumored to launch its Series 10 Apple Watch models and new AirPods during the event. You’ll be able to tune in on Apple.com, YouTube, and inside the AppleTV app on any Apple device.
So will there be something called generative AI in the new phones? And how invasive of one’s privacy will that be?
