Apple just quietly launched one of its most interesting accessories in years—and it’s basically the spiritual, couture-level successor to the iPod Socks.
If “couture” and iPod Socks are two words you thought you’d never read in the same sentence, well….same. Nonetheless, the new iPhone Pocket, created in collaboration with ISSEY MIYAKE, is a limited-edition, 3D-knitted sleeve designed to let you wear your iPhone (and a few essentials) instead of just carrying it.
This isn’t just another strap case. It’s Apple leaning fully into fashion collab territory, with a utilitarian piece that feels at home both in an Apple Store and on a runway.
What is iPhone Pocket?

iPhone Pocket is a fully enclosed, super-stretchy knit pouch that fits any iPhone model along with other small daily items—cards, keys, AirPods, lip balm, you name it. It uses a ribbed, open-structured textile inspired by ISSEY MIYAKE’s iconic Pleats Please collection.
The material subtly reveals what’s inside when stretched, so you can glance at your display without pulling your phone all the way out, while still feeling more secure than a bare lanyard mount.

Crafted in Japan, iPhone Pocket is built as a singular 3D-knit—no patchwork, no overdesigned hardware—just a sculpted textile that expands and contracts naturally.

Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE are offering two versions:
- Short strap iPhone Pocket in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
- Long strap iPhone Pocket (crossbody/over-shoulder friendly) in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
You can carry it: handheld, looped onto a bag, or worn directly on the body as a fashion accessory.
