Created by developer Simon Støvring, Festivitas lets you string animated holiday lights across your devices. On the Mac, the app hangs festive bulbs from your Menu Bar and across the top of your Dock. It offers a surprising amount of customization: you can tweak the bulb shapes, adjust the colors, and choose from various animation patterns like “Chase” or “Twinkle.”
New for this year, the Mac version introduces a magical falling snow effect. You can turn your desktop into a winter wonderland where snowflakes drift down the screen, piling up on your windows. The snow is even interactive—move your mouse, and the flakes will swirl around your cursor! It also supports Shortcuts, allowing you to automate your decorations to turn on at sunset or trigger a snowstorm at the press of a button.
Plus, iPhone and iPad users aren’t left out in the cold. The iOS/iPadOS version brings the cheer of the season to your Home Screen via widgets. You can frame your favorite family photos with twinkling lights or use transparent widgets to drape lights seamlessly over your wallpaper and app icons.
