That is really easy to joke about when you have a $1000 machine. When you have a machine that is $7000-$10,000, it is a little harder to just take. Stop judging and making fun unless you understand the needs and have walked a mile in our shoes. When you have systems in place that can be more than $100,000, it is not always easy to just run the latest OS or hardware.

That’s an interesting perspective. Would you mind sharing what you’re running. I’ve witnessed and experienced first hand how today’s cheaper machines, such as a MacBook Pro 13″ are so fast that they can work for yesterday’s power users who used to run early Mac Pros, and PowerMac G5s. I’d be curious to hear what your running or the hardware requirements that make for 100k in hardware.
Of course you know that this comic strip is to be taken light-heartedly. As I too keep my systems a long time, and while sometimes I get a little upset with legacy support, I realize that I’m using 5 year old hardware and have to support some things on my own.
