The NewerTech Wireless Aluminum Keypad perfectly streamlines numeric data input for any profession including accountants, analysts, teachers, administrators, and programmers, as well as students.
But the NewerTech Keypad is useful for more than just number crunching. As Sibelius Blog points out, “the efficient use of music notation desktop software products relies heavily upon the numeric keypad.”
Naturally, musicians, accountants and programmers each will have different preferences for the layout of their keypad and with Karabiner software, anyone can remap the keys on their NewerTech Keypad how they see fit.
Sibelius Blog gives a step-by-step example of how they remapped the keypad’s defaults to better suit needs for musical notation software. Of course, this is just one of the many ways that the keypad can be customized to fit specific needs.
And while this software can be extremely useful, it should be noted that OWC does not offer support for the remapping of the NewerTech Wireless Aluminum Keypad as it is not an official OWC solution. We simply want to share others’ experiences and uses for our keypad.
If you want to remap your keypad to better fit your own needs or preferences, check out the free Karabiner software!
Note: OWC has no affiliation with this software and receives no benefit related to this support (other than a benefit we all share in the continued support of these applications). If you appreciate the function or functionality this software offers, we encourage you to support the authors.
