Putting an official end to the rumors about the date, Apple has sent invites to media for its next event. Tim Cook & Co. will show off the latest iPhone lineup on Wednesday, September 9 at noon central time at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
The invites were issued with a colorful shot of Apple’s logo and a tagline that reads “Hey Siri, give us a hint.”
The next generation iPhone 6s and 6s Plus (if Apple continues the “s” naming convention) are expected to feature a similar design as the previous generation with potential additions of Force Touch, an A9 processor and an updated camera. There has also been talk of a new version of the Apple TV, which could boast a full app store, a new controller and Siri support.
If you’re looking for more specific details on the event or a “hint”, you won’t find Siri helpful:

One of Siri’s responses is “…something big…” , I wonder if Apple rented the bigger space to display a new SmartHome, …an interior of a home with a new Apple TV w/HomeKit & Siri integration and various HomeKit devices, and how they all interact w/ATV, iPhone, Watch?
My guess? Siri on the new Apple TV will learn what we like and suggest movies or TV shows when we say, “Siri give me a hint.”
That’s a very good guess. It would seem to be Apple TV related, for sure.
