As iOS has progressed over the years, it has become a much more capable operating system. But with new capabilities comes more opportunities to find yourself lost in a cycle of tapping and tapping back while navigating all of its features.
Fortunately, iOS 9 has addressed the difficulty of finding different features and setting your preferences with a handy new search box.
To search, simply tap the Settings icon and you’ll see the search bar located at the top of the screen accompanied by the familiar magnifying glass image.
As you can see below, searching for “Volume” or “Cellular”, for example, brings up a wealth of options. This makes changing volume or data settings for several different purposes a much quicker task.
OK… in hindsight this new ability might be incredibly obvious to a lot people. But many long-time iOS users (this author included) have been conditioned to go on a tapping spree to find the feature they’re looking for, so it might have been easy for some to quickly overlook.
