The folks at Apple news site MacTrast.com recently got their hands on some of OWC’s most popular solutions. The site reviewed and put the OWC Thunderbolt 2 Dock, Mercury On-The-Go Pro, ThunderBay 4 mini and Envoy Pro mini through their paces, coming away impressed with each.
Here are some of the comments author Chris Rauschnot had in his reviews of the OWC solutions:
Thunderbolt 2 Dock
“OWC clearly thought about the design of the dock that would reside on a desk visible at all times. The ports are inside of a finely crafted brushed aluminum case with a black plastic top and curved edges, that is sure to fit in with newer iMacs, Mac minis, MacBook Pros or the sleek Mac Pro. The design of this aluminum dock reminded me of professional Apple gear.” – 4.5/5 Rating
Mercury On-The-Go Pro
“I can say that it is the easiest to transport and use with all of the desktop computers and MacBooks that I work with. They include FireWire 800 and USB 3.0 cables and a travel bag to save time, money and keep everything together.” – 4.5/5 Rating
ThunderBay 4 mini
“With OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6G solid state drives installed on my test unit, the ThunderBay 4 mini can drive multi-stream compressed 4K video and other workflows requiring a high amount of available bandwidth. The enclosure is so versatile, it can handle SSDs and standard spinning 2.5” hard drives. Or go all in with RAID software to enable data-redundancy.” – 4.5/5 Rating
Envoy Pro mini
“There is no more waiting for files to arrive or backups to complete. With the right tools, the Envoy Pro mini can accomplish tasks that many of today’s external hard drives would have a very hard time completing.” – 4.5/5 Rating

do you have any wireless chargers for Apple I-6 phones, and Ipods?
Nice to see a good review for the thunderbolt dock. It would be even nicer to see the USB-C dock I bought a couple of moths ago, was told I would get it in Nov.,then told it would come in Dec. Unless I miss my guess, it’s now January. So when is it arriving now?
Hi, Richard. The dock is currently on track for a mid-January ship date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
