The John Lennon Songwriting Contest is now live! The organization is currently accepting original song for entry into its annual competition.
Entrants can be amateur or professional songwriters, and the winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of noted songwriters, producers, and music industry professionals.
And there is more than just bragging rights on the line. Entrants will have the chance to win more than $6,000 in cash and awards including an OWC 1.0TB On-The-Go Pro storage solution (the same drives used on The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus) and a chance to perform live at the American Heart Association’s ROCK THE RED event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on April 28.
Each entry requires the following elements:
- One Song five minutes or less (mp3, CD or cassette)
- A lyric sheet – no lyrics necessary for instrumental compositions
- A payment – $30 per entry (Entry fees from this contest help support the nonprofit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus)
- A completed application
