About the ‘Stevies’
The American Business Award program, created in 2002 and nicknamed “The Stevies”, is the only business awards program in the United States that honors and generates public recognition of corporate and executive achievements worldwide. The Stevie Award trophy is often called “the business Oscar”, because it is hand-cast and finished in 24-karat gold by the same company that creates the Oscar. The name “Stevie” is taken from the name Stephen, derived from Greek term for “crowned”. Past American Business Award winners have include Apple, Oracle, Hilton Hotels, and AT&T, and OWC has won Stevies in 2012, 2014 and 2015 and NewerTech has won awards in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

  • Is 16GB Ram better than the 8GB OWC Ram I have now for normal usage i.e surfing, streaming, email, and word docs in text edit?
Also, is it best to have a 3Gb/l on my mid 2010 MBP and do higher GB’s SSD’s perform better than the 120 I have now? The one I have now performs great but I want to be sure before buying another because I’ve been reading about parity with higher GB SSD’s.

    • Thank you for your questions! In your mid 2010 MacBook Pro, we would recommend the use of a SATA II (3G) SSD. This is due to your internal interface only being SATA II. If you were to use a SATA III (6G) SSD, it will down clock to 3G speeds. There will be no performance difference.

Maxing out your computers RAM is a great option for better performance. Depending on your screen size you may not be able to upgrade to 16GBs. Please feel free to contact our Technical Support Team and we will be happy to speak with you further!
