Bus-powered USB-C drives for professional production workflows where rugged, cool, quiet and blazing fast performance is paramount
OWC today announced its 2019 family of Mercury Elite Pro Mini storage solutions. Perfect for client meetings, studio sessions and on-set downloads, the OWC Mercury Elite Pro mini USB-C with full Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is a powerhouse of data transfer and storage.
The new Mercury Elite Pro mini with USB-C is engineered to keep pace with production schedules, from the studio to the office and everywhere in between. With bus-powered plug-and-play connectivity, users can ditch those adapters and grab, share and present works in progress.
“The Mercury Elite Pro family of storage solutions has been a favorite with our music, video and creative professional enthusiasts for many years, and it just keeps getting better,” said Larry O’Connor, OWC Founder & CEO. “When data is your livelihood, there’s nothing better in life than a rugged, blazing fast hard drive or SSD, and frankly there’s just about no other hard drive out there that’s better or more versatile than this one.”

Is the Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini compatible with the iPad Air Gen 4?
We haven’t fully tested the 4th-gen iPad Air yet so can’t officially say it will work as expected or not. However, being that it is a USC-C based device, an external SSD should work just as it does with the iPad Pro (which we can confirm is compatible). We will post our test results as they come in – hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later – so keep your eyes on the blog!
I was expecting the OWC Express to have USB-C by now.
Great, but please bring also higher SSD capacities (4, 8 & 16 TB) with USB & Thunderbolt interface.
