Apple support no longer assured for several MacBook Airs & Pro
MacRumors reported this week that Apple has added several computers to it’s vintage and obsolete products list:
- MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2013)
- MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
- MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014)
- MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2014)
But vintage or not, the 2013/2014 MacBook Air and 2014 MacBook Pro rank among the Mac favorites that are still in wide use – and for great reason!
We Can Help
We can help keep your 2013 MacBook Air, 2014 MacBook Air, or 2014 MacBook Pro running at peak performance for years to come!
Is it a space thing? Are you juggling what data, photos, music, and video you can keep on board with you? Not a problem! Apple only offered up to 512GB and as little as 64GB factory-installed storage. But we make it easy to go up to 250GB, 500GB, 1TB – even as high as 2TB SSD!
Do you lose unplugged power after what seems like just a few minutes? We have replacement batteries with up to 23% more capacity than the original Apple factory batteries! We have plenty of other internal service parts and essential things like Magsafe 2 Power adapters too!
A lot of this stuff you can do right at home – it’s not much harder than changing a lightbulb. It could even make for a great Work From Home (WFH) project! Plus, you have a full team at OWC that’s got your back for any questions you might have.
We don’t consider your MacBook Air to be obsolete, or your MacBook Pro to be obsolete either. Our upgrade kits include all the tools you’ll need for your DIY project, and our free videos make installation a breeze!

Hi Clifford!
This is not something we typically do, however, if you contact Customer Support at 1-800-275-4576, they will walk you through every upgrade available to soup up your machine!
What does this mean for the mid 2012 MacBook Pro, is it on the list or will it still be relevant ? Apple is the best in the business and makes a sturdy product but, they’re practice to discontinue support of their products is weird and costly to people who love their products
You can find more info on Apple’s Vintage and Obsolete Products page. The 2012 MacBook Pro is on the vintage list, and I completely understand the frustration. But that’s why OWC & MacSales.com are here – to help keep your machine operating at peak performance as long as possible!

You really need a 4TB option.
Grandmas have a lot of photos. :-)
Let’s just suffice it to say that we think a 4TB option is a good idea as well. :-)
