The Node Titan is a really good enclosure and I love the tool-less installation for cards. As for the card itself, I honestly wasn't expecting much considering it is only a midrange graphics card, but it runs like a champ and is able to handle pretty much everything I use it for. The fans keep the setup from overheating and they don't make much noise, which is awesome. Overall I am quite pleased.

Rating: 5/5 Great for rendering July 3, 2020 Using this mainly for Resolve 16 on my 2018 Mac Mini. Speeds up workflow considerably, letting me render simple video, (HD) with basic grading and titles, almost 1.5x realtime. 4K is working at 17-20fps for renders. Before getting this box, it was like 2-10fps depending on the shot. Wow! Future proof as well, I may put in a Vega64 when I do more 4k stuff.

Rating: 5/5 Huge performance increase July 1, 2020 I use this for video production on a Mac mini (Prem Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Avid). I have a Radeon Pro W5700 installed driving two 4K UHD monitors. The performance increase has been enormous and I can also do realtime viewing with multiple effects at full 4k 10 bit resolution and no stuttering. The only issue I've had is that if the Mac goes to sleep all the displays go black on rewake and the system has to be rebooted. This is apparently an OSX bug that effects all enclosures. Quiet, Sleek design, exactly the right size, trivial install (although a little text on the power cables would have helped).

For essentially the same cost I get a unit that’s demonstrably faster, more versatile and — a most pleasant surprise — virtually as quiet as the Blackmagic unit. The footprint of the Akitio is only slightly larger, but gives me a unit that I can upgrade as newer and more powerful cards come to market. Finally, it’s always a pleasure working with an OWC product, whose makers stand behind what they make.

Rating: 5/5 A well built eGPU May 16, 2020 I received my AKiTiO Node Titan Thunderbolt 3 eGPU Enclosure with Radeon RX 580 GPU quickly, only a couple of days after placing my order. While both units are shipped together they are in their own individual packaging. The card must be inserted in the eGPU enclosure which is a simple plugin that requires no tools. The AKiTiO enclosure is extremely well built and provides both the power and cooling requirements for a more powerful graphics card upgrade at a later date if needed. The eGPU enclosure has a built-in power supply so only a standard 3-prong power cable connects the unit to power (no external large power brick.) The unit is near-silent at idle but there is a little fan hum if you listen closely. This was only apparent to me because I'm using it with a silent Mac Mini. Performance is good...many times the graphics abilities built into my Mini. It did seem large at first but upon consideration, I understand that room provides future upgradability. It was a plug and play setup and I had it up and running in about 10 mins. I'm very pleased so far with this purchase.
