Did you know that there is such an event as “Customer Service Week”?
You may ask, Robert, what is “Customer Service Week” and what is it all about?
Well then, since you asked, “Customer Service Week” is a national event that is dedicated to recognizing the importance of customer service and to honor the people who serve and support customers with the highest degree of professionalism and care.
In 1992 our U.S. Congress proclaimed “Customer Service Week” a nationally recognized event, celebrated annually around the globe during the first full week in October.
It is a time of the year when businesses all around the world have the chance to learn and convey the meaning of customer appreciation and just how valuable communication is.
While many people have never even heard of “Customer Service Week”, others are quite adamant about getting into the spirit of it and doing everything they can to change their work environment is a positive way.
There are no specific activities or things that businesses are supposed to do, so most companies get creative and come up with their own ideas.
Here at OWC, we plan on having a week of fun, food and recognition.
We hope that the events during the week will boost overall morale among workers and all departments that run the entire company on a daily basis.
- We will have banners and posters hanging throughout our LEED Certified office signifying a tradition of service.
- OWC plans on providing a continental breakfast and tasty danishes for all on one of the days.
- Another day will require the entire company’s involvement in a cultural pot luck day.
- Throughout the week, the customer service department will participate in trivia contests and will receive goody bags (recycled of course) and thank you cards.
A business built on customer service understands and anticipates the customer’s needs. It designs goods and services to meet those needs and builds products that will perform to customers expectations. Moreover, it then packages them carefully, labels them correctly, sells them at a fair price, delivers them as scheduled, and follows up, as necessary, to satisfy the customer.
This kind of commitment to service leads to customer loyalty and to genuine improvements at the bottom line. At Other World Computing, Inc. we strive for these type of results.
So, join us in celebration and please don’t forget to wish all a “Happy Customer Service Week” October 4th through October 8th!
