Due to my work as a pro audio sound post-production (designer) I had to downgrade to El Capitan myself for all my software to work exactly right. This was easy, as I;m a Geek.

It would be nice if OWC offered *base* installations of still actively supported versions of OSX. I have to avoid any updates that patch for the Spectre and Meltdown CPU flaws as there are indeed times, and I'm monitoring the system, when I need 100% from all cores.

Best computer purchase of my life. Hands down.

My original Mac was a iMac G4 Snowball which I bought from you in 2000 and which still has wonderful graphics but is getting creaky. Plus the OSX 10.4.11 just doesn't cut it any more. I am amazed by the resolution of the screen and the speed of operation. After ordering the bluetooth keyboard, during the wait I plugged in the original wired keyboard from the old iMac and it took off fine. Considering that most iMac configurations, even refurbished ones, can run from $1000-1500, I took a shot at this $649 bargain. With a small 250GB HD, I added a 1TB Firewire 800 external drive to handle the Home folder and all of its music and photos. So far so good!
