iMac: Even more in your all-in-one
The iMac is a fantastic all-in-one machine. And despite its slim design, you might be able to fit more storage in your model of iMac than you originally thought. The Data Doubler for 2009-2011 iMacs can bring a world of configuration flexibility to your workflow. Simply replace your iMac’s internal SuperDrive with the OWC Data Doubler and you can boost your storage capacity by adding up to an additional 2.0TB of storage with a second HDD, or enjoy near-instantaneous boot and app loading times by adding an SSD.
And when it comes to many iMac models, you can go further than simply installing a Data Doubler to add storage and performance with OWC’s HDD upgrade DIY kits. Starting with Late 2009 models, all recent iMacs have technology (called SMC) built-in to help manage drive temperatures. OWC’s Exclusive HDD Kits include a custom digital monitor that “talks Apple SMC” and maintains proper temperature reporting and Apple Diagnostic compatibility allowing you to upgrade an existing 3.5” HDD with any 3.5” SATA HDD of your choice up to 8.0TB.
And for some 2010-2011 iMac models, OWC offers SSD kits that allow you to add a 3G or 6G SSD to your iMac; you’re no longer limited to hard drive technology!

Ive had my data doubler for years on my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 and since my update to macOS High Sierra my second harddrive wont appear.
OWC is awesome. I thought my Mid 2010 13″ MacBook Pro was on it’s way out until I found OWC and their cost efficient upgrades.
Now, I’ve got an updated older unit that will more than likely last until support & OS X compatibilty ends.
