About This Mac
Having evolved into the place for all the specifics about your machine's configuration, About This Mac or Apple System Profiler, adds even more information in 10.7 Lion. For laptop users, the main page now lists what size laptop you have, which is important when determining compatibility for certain upgrades. The main page also shows the last time a software update check was run, a great reminder for those that always plan on doing that tomorrow. Storage information now has a nice graphic showing the capacity for any storage device that is connected to the machine; iDevice users will no doubt recognize how the types of data stored are displayed. Graphical representations have also been extended to the Memory and Battery sections. Again, iDevice users will feel right at home with the green cylinder battery graphic. For users that are looking to learn more about their machine, 10.7 provides links to support documents and service information that is specific to the computer that 10.7 is installed on. This will be very useful when it comes time to get those machines upgraded.
