So, you set your alarm. You got up in the middle of the night, because this is basically your own little Christmas Eve in September. You constantly refreshed over and over until you wore out your “command” and “R” keys – and your fingers.
And when you finally got in, Apple tells you that the iPhone 6 model you want won’t ship for weeks after the Sept. 19 release. But remember, what sold out was just the slotted amount for preorders, and you still have launch day.
However, fighting those crowds of Apple fanatics can be daunting for some. And it’s a Friday. Not everyone can take off work to wait in line with a bunch of other people who are supposed to be at work.
Patience is a virtue
While not getting the iPhone you want on launch day is disappointing, the different models usually start trickling in over the following weeks, so it pays to be patient. And usually within one month or so, you can walk in to any Apple store (with no lines!) and get whichever model of iPhone you really want.
It’s definitely worth holding out for a 64GB Gold iPhone 6, or the 128GB Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus if that’s what you have your eye on. There’s no need to settle.
Where to buy…
I personally like the AT&T stores, but I actually love Apple store launch days, too. I know the lines are huge and the people can be a bit crazy. But all that action just adds to the excitement. And with a new iPhone launch, isn’t that what it’s all about?
