Photographer Details Challenges of 10-Country African Waters Journey

Recently, we shared with you the journey of Florian Wagner during his African Waters project. The primary objective of African Waters was to create awareness for the need for responsible handling of our number one source of life: water.

Wagner’s massively ambitious art project spanned 10 African countries and more than 11,000 miles by air, land, and water. Along the way, his team encountered numerous challenges that come not only from the technical obstacles of the trip, but also the environmental hazards such as illnesses and inclement weather.

To show you more details of the challenges that Wagner and his team endured during the trip, we will be sharing a series of Facebook posts with complete with photos and notes from Wagner’s journal that he kept throughout his tour of the 10 African countries (South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda an Mozambique).

The project was done in partnership with Wagner’s primary sponsor, OWC, to also raise money and awareness for Splash. OWC is celebrating its 30th year of service by helping Splash raise money to provide access to clean water and sanitation to communities and children around the world (find out how you can help here).

OWC was also the official storage provider for the journey that saw more than 33,000 photos captured. Thanks to OWC’s reliable storage, not a single image was lost

Be sure to check back to our official OWC Facebook page to see more entries from Wagner’s journey along with some of the stunning images that were captured along the way and stored safely with OWC hardware.
