The wait is over. The Extreme Tech Challenge finals are here, taking place tonight on Sir Richard Branson’s private Necker Island. The four-stage global entrepreneurial competition unfolds over four stages, each stage giving entrants global exposure and access to top entrepreneurs, tech pioneers and key investors.
Along with tonight’s finals, the XTC 2019 contestants will be announced. The 2019 hopefuls will receive support throughout their campaign process, and will have the opportunity to publicly pitch their venture at CES in Las Vegas in January.
Larry O’Connor, Founder & CEO of OWC and XTC Vertical Judge who is on hand for the event, said “OWC’s dedication to sustainable innovation extends beyond our day-to-day business and into the community. We strive for zero waste, both environmentally and strategically.” He continued “Our outlook is to the long term in everything we do, and the Sustainability Vertical is a logical fit for our mission. We’re looking forward to experiencing the ideas brought to the competition this year.”
Previous XTC competitions have showcased rising startups such as Canva, Sphero, Wanderu, Doctor on Demand, and Bloomlife. The 2018 XTC Finalists are The Revl Arc, Power Ledger and Owlet.
