Apple’s proud, 50-year history is full of iconic products. Most would argue that the Newton MessagePad released in 1993, is not among them. I would argue that the Newton is and was simply misunderstood.

In fact, without the Newton, not only is there no iPod or iPhone, but it’s entirely likely that Apple as a company isn’t saved from the brink of bankruptcy in Steve Jobs’ triumphant return to the company in 1997. Check out the video below for the full story.
